Mechanism
A mixture of saturated hydrocarbons that forms an occlusive film on the stratum corneum surface, markedly reducing TEWL. Cosmetic grade is highly refined.

Onset
The occlusive effect is immediate upon application.
Cautions
Use highly refined grades for cosmetics. Non-comedogenicity is formulation-dependent.
