Mechanism
A polyphenol derived from rice bran. Adding 0.5% ferulic acid to a 15% vitamin C + 1% vitamin E solution doubled photoprotection from about 4-fold to about 8-fold (Lin 2005, measured by redness and sunburn cells).

0.5% in the study (Lin 2005).
